Wembley Arena with ZZ Top's electric guitar player

In the London on the tube Wembley Arena with ZZ Top's electric guitar player surprised fans of the rock group last week by travelling to a gig.

At Wembley Arena the rock group were gearing up for a gig when Billy Gibbons decided to purchase a ticket for the London Underground.
Speaking to BBC News, he revealed that he did feel a "little edgy" at first on the train, as one man on the route was "checking me out".
"And then I realised that he was looking at a ZZ Top concert ticket," Gibbons commented.
The bearded musician added that he may keep taking public transport to gigs, as he arrived at the venue before his bandmates.
This is despite the fact that the Circle Line broke down only minutes after he purchased his train ticket.
ZZ Top formed in the 1960s and have since notched up numerous worldwide hits such as Sharp Dressed Man, La Grange, Viva Las Vegas and Legs.

Rescheduled to London Wembley Stadium for Michael Jackson Tribute Show

The Michael Jackson tribute show, originally scheduled for 26 September in Vienna has been moved to London's Wembley Arena.A year later than planned, London will feature a tour dedicated to the King of Pop Michael Jackson. Although the late and great Michael Jackson himself won't be gracing our stages, a London tribute concert, which has been a subject of discussion since just hours after his death, has finally been planned for next June, 2010.The news comes after the announcement of a Michael Jackson Tribute Show in Vienna set to feature a star studded cast of music names. However Jermaine Jackson and the concert promoter George Kindel reconsidered the date and location when top performers Mary J Bilge, Natalie Cole and Chris Brown pulled out claiming scheduling conflicts.Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest on 4 September and the announcement of the Vienna tribute concert came the following week. The eight week lead time before the show, however, proved too challenging the short notice saw numerous stars unable to attend. The new date and venue offer eight months for the promoter, Jackson family and music guests to organise the event."Instead of eight weeks we now have eight months to prepare," Jermaine Jackson told press. "Some of the stars who were not able to participate in the Vienna concert, but expressed their wish to participate in this event, will be able to perform at Wembley Stadium in London in June 2010."We can expect to see many of the big names in music who were expected to be missing from the Vienna event in London next June. Details of the lineup and exact date will be available soon.

the MEN arena, Elbow bring The Seldom Seen Kid

A LAST chance to see Elbow perform this year, when they bring The Seldom Seen Kid to the MEN arena on Friday, September 18.
Elbow, arguably the band of 2009, are riding high after winning the Mercury Music Prize, the South Bank Show Award for best album, an NME award for outstanding contribution to British music and the BRIT for best British band.
Following a sold out Wembley Arena show, an extolled set as part of Meltdown at the Royal Festival Hall, and two sold out shows with the Halle orchestra at the Manchester International Festival, the band have striven to make live performances particular and coercive and this final show will be no exception.
Frontman, Guy Garvey, said: “It’s been a brilliant group of years if, at times, a bit frantic and infrequently bizarre. To finish with a home town show is the perfect end to a perfect year.”
Tickets cost £25 (subject to booking fee) and are available from www.gigsandtours.com or by ringing 08712200260 now.

Wembley Arena Premier League kicks off at O2

Premier League Darts is set for its biggest ever crowd when the new season begins at London's O2 Arena.
The 15 venues have been approved for the 2010 tournament, which starts at the group Greenwich venue on February 11 and visits 13 UK cities before the Wembley play offs on May 23.
More than 75,000 fans saw the 2009 Premier League Darts, completing the event's progression into the country's biggest indoor sporting event in just five seasons.
That number is set to increase next year, with over 10,000 tickets going on sale for the O2 Arena which would be the largest crowd in the sport's modern era.
The Liverpool Echo Arena, Belfast's Odyssey Arena and the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester all hold up to 8,000 fans to see the world's best darts players.
"To be able to stage the opening alliance night of the 2010 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts at the world-famous O2 Arena in London shows not only the popularity of the tournament but also the appetite for PDC darts," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"This tournament has grown each year since 2005, when only 600 fans attended the first alliance night in Stoke.
"To now be able to host over 10,000 fans at the O2 Arena as well as crowds of up to 8,000 at the UK's other top indoor venues is a big statement for the sport.
"No other indoor sport is able to match the excitement and value for money tandered by the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts, which will travel to all four turning point of the UK over three months."
This year, the £400,000 tournament also come back to the BIC in Bournemouth, which previously hosted sold out Premier League Darts in 2006 and 2007.
Following the visits to the O2 Arena and BIC in Bournemouth, the tournament moves on to the Odyssey Arena in Belfast and then to Exeter's Westpoint Arena.
Visits to the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, Brighton Centre and the new LG Arena in Birmingham complete the first half of the 14 week alliance phase.
Cardiff's CIA, the SECC in Glasgow and Sheffield Arena continue the UK wide tour, before the Liverpool Echo Arena, AECC in Aberdeen, Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle and Trent FM Arena in Nottingham host the remaining alliance nights.
The top four players from the eight man alliance table will then advance to the play offs, which will be held at the Wembley Arena on Sunday May 23.
All nights are projected live on Sky Sports and will start at 7pm, and feature the world's top six players, following the 2010 World Darts Championship, alongside two Wildcard selections.
Reigning champion James Wade will assert his title in the tournament, while four time winner Phil Taylor and Holland's Raymond van Barneveld will also finished.
Mervyn King and Terry Jenkins, the 2007 runner up, are also likely to carry on their position within the top six of the PDC's Order of Merit, but players such as Dennis Priestley, Ronnie Baxter and UK Open finalist Colin Osborne are all fighting for a spot going into the autumn's major tournaments.
The 2010 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts will again boast £400,000 prize money, including £125,000 to the eventual champion.
